Wallpaper Borders
Wallpaper borders in kids’ bedroom or master bedrooms are a big no. Not only are they outdated, but they look way too childish and old, straight out of the 00’s. Instead, go for something more modern, a floral pattern, a soft color or subtle stripes. You’ll find them to be much easier to work with when it comes to furniture as well.
Bold Colors
Yes, we know not too long ago saturated colors were the big choice for master bedrooms around the world. However, even though a major trend this year is bold colors, we don’t mean that in the bedroom. In fact, softer colors will bring an increase in wellness and peace, which is a big concern this year. You don’t need to make it more complex than it has to be, a simple white will carry you a long way.
Wall-to-wall Carpet
We know we say this a lot, that you need a rug in your bedroom to make your decor come to life and increase the comfort as well, but wall-to-wall? Big no. Carpeting the entire floor of any home used to be the norm, but not anymore. Instead, area rugs on a hard-flooring surface create contrast without all the maintenance that full carpeting requires.
Wood Paneling
Even though mid-century is making a huge comeback this year, don’t try to add texture to your bedroom with wood paneling. Instead, gallery walls are the best option for a modern bedroom, bringing identity and personality with a touch of freshness and uniqueness.
